Farming systems facing climate change and resource challenges
The 14th European IFSA symposium took place 10-14 April 2022 in Évora, Portugal. It was organised by Teresa Pinto-Correia from the University of Évora: Conference website.
The conference had initially been planned to take place 21-27 March 2020, but as we all know, that was when the first wave of COVID-19 swept accross Europe, we were in lockdown and all travel ceased. We thought that the COVID-19 pandemic would soon be over and first reported the conference to July 2020, then March 2021. But as we may remember, the waves of various COVID-19 variants kept coming, surprising and unpredictable. While in 2021 many scientific conferences shifted to an online format, the IFSA community wanted to meet in person, so the conference was resheduled for April 2022.
In the days before the symposium, the PhD course took place.

There were four keynote speakers (you can download the slides by clicking on the titles below):

Jørgen Primdahl (DK) - Collaborative strategy making for agrarian landscapes
Sergio Schneider (BR) - The contribution of family farming to foster sustainable food systems
Ika Darnhofer (AT) - Challenges for Farming Systems Research: learning from experience and looking ahead
